Overview
Our Tea Immersion Tour in Rwanda takes you to Pfunda Tea Estate; the largest and most renowned tea estate companies in Rwanda. The estate is located below the Virunga Volcanoes and gets its fertile soil from the erupted soils of the volcanoes. This helps contribute to the high quality of tea produced from the estate. The Pfunda Tea Estate plantation stretches over hundreds of hectares and farmers can be seen planting, tending or harvesting tea leaves depending on the period of visitation. An enthusiastic traveler may also wish to participate in these activities. During the tour, you will learn about the history and process of tea production. You will also have the opportunity to sample different types of Rwandan tea. This experience is a great way to learn about the process of making ‘Crop to Cup’ and to admire the beauty of Rwanda’s countryside.
